Annual Convocation
The Annual Convocation of Kohinoor Education was held on 8th December 2007at Kohinoor Global Campus, Khandala. The event commenced with the marshalling of graduating students and faculty members. The event was graced by top dignitaries, Guest of Honor, Mr. Ravi Parthasarathy, Chairman and Managing Director, IL&FS, Shri Manohar Joshi, Founder- Kohinoor Group, Shri Unmesh Joshi, CMD Kohinoor Group, Dr. Feridun Hamdullahpur, VP (Academic ) Carleton University.
Mr. Ravi Parthasarathy, was felicitated with the Kohinoor Award for Professional Excellence by the founder of the Kohinoor Group, Mr. Manohar Joshi. Mr. Parthasarathy who has been leading the financial institution since its early days, has played a key role in the growth and success of IL&FS, the largest institution involved in the funding of the infrastructure industry and one which has successfully pioneered investment in several other sectors.
Dreamz
Dreamz, an intercollegiate- event organized by students was a one-day event that was spread over three sessions. The first session was the paper presentation contest that give an opportunity to the students to express their ideas on any of the themes namely “ Outsourcing- Will the Bubble Burst?”, “Focus on Internal Customers” and “How effective is Zero Channel marketing?”.
The second session was ADZAP contest. This contest enable the students to present their creative skills by formulating print ads. The last was “The Business Quiz” in which students demonstrated their knowledge about business.
Students from various college in Pune Mumbai participated in the event. They included Welingkars, Narsee Monjee Institute, Indira School of Management, etc. The event ended with students putting up a cultural show in the evening with a Song & Dance masti to let their hair down after a hectic day.
Vyaktitvam 2008
The theme for the HR Meet organized for Vyaktitvam 2008 was “Innovative HR Practices for Competitive Advantage in the Service Sector”. The event was inaugurated by Mr.Amit Sharma, Group HR Manager-Kale Consultants who threw lights on some areas of the theme.
The five modules for the event were High Commitment Management, Transformed Workplace for Building Leadership Capabilities, Staffing Challenges for Sustained Quality and Driving Cultural and Behavioral change in the Organization. HR people working in various industries were called in to discuss each module in detail. The last module was a panel Discussion on Creating Entrepreneurs for Services value chain. Renowned specialists-Col. Menon from ITC Grand Central, Mr. Neil Sequeira from ISS Facility Services, and Mr. Arun Pal from Syntel Inc, answered the participant’s queries.
Pheonix 2008
Pheonix 08 – a quest to innovation was the branding for the KBS Annual Advertising and Brand conference held in 2008 signifies continuous innovation and transformation, which has become both the survival and distinction strategy for Brands in the marketplace. The conference served to facilitate the sharing of experience, view and ideas by eminent personalities in the field of Advertising, Media Planning and Brand Management. It was aimed at adding to the knowledge of the student fraternity, faculty members and the corporate world. The significance of the event was to throw light on the most debated question “Can Advertising be Outsourced?”.
The views and ideas were shared by leading creative Director’s, Brand Managers, and Media Planners that included Mr. Erikk D’suzza- National Head- Ad Sales, Reader’s Digest, Mr. N.Parthasarathy- Regional General Manager, The Hindu, Mr. Brijesh Jacob- Creative Director, Grey World Wide, Mr. Madan Mohan- Senior Vice President TBWA Anthem, Mr Suraja Kishore AVP- Brand Planning, Lintas India Limited and Mr. Etinder Pal Singh- Director EDP, North Point- Lintas India Ltd.
Annual Research Conference 2008
The Kohinoor Business School conducted its annual research conference in 2008. The key note address for the conference was delivered by Shri Sandip Ghose, Chief General Manager of Reserve Bank of India, P:une and Principal of College of Agriculture Banking.
The conference attracted several excellent research and referred papers from academician all over the country and covered varied areas such as Public Services Management, Retail Management, Tourism Management, IT & ITES, Banking & Insurance and many other.
